Biden to visit Lithuania, Poland next week

Vice President Joe Biden will travel to Eastern Europe next week to meet with leaders from partner countries to discuss recent developments in Ukraine and other regional issues.

The AP's Mark Smith reports.



Biden will visit Lithuania and Poland on a three-day trip that starts on March 17.

He will meet with leaders of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland and consult on steps to support Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Biden's visit is also intended to affirm collective defense commitments under the North Atlantic Treaty and for allied and partner countries in Europe.
