State Police have released the names of two sisters killed when their car crashed on Paper Mill Road in Newark Friday morning.

Police say 23-year-old Ashlyn Sisson lost control of the car as she drove northbound near Possum Park Road at about 1:20 a.m.

The car ran over a raised concrete median, crossed the southbound lane and hit a curb before hitting a utility pole.

Ashlyn and her 22-year-old sister Devyn were pronounced dead at the scene. Neither was wearing a seatbelt.

Police say drugs and alcohol played no role in the crash, which closed Paper Mill Road at the scene for about 5 hours.
