Early teacher hiring becomes permanent in Del.
By Amy Cherry

Teachers will be hired in Delaware much earlier now.

The new law makes a 2011 pilot program that speeds up teacher hiring permanent.

The law requires the state Department of Education to estimate enrollment and guarantee state funds for teacher salaries by May instead of October.

The change better allows Delaware to compete with neighboring states to secure quality teachers.
