Wilmington police are investigating an industrial accident Monday morning that left a Claymont man hospitalized.

Officers responding to a report of a person down at Graydon Hurst and Son on Baynard Boulevard around 8:45 found the 27-year-old victim with 2nd-and 3rd-degree burns on his chest.

Police say the victim was dismantling an above-ground fuel tank when some fuel inside exploded, the blast knocking the victim to the ground and burning him.

No one else was hurt.

The victim is in stable condition at Pennsylvania's Crozier-Chester Medical Center.
