An arrest warrant has been issued for a 25-year-old man who was named the suspect in an armed robbery last month in Wilmington, police said.

Jacquan Smith, who lives on the 3400 block of Cranstone Avenue in Prices Corner, was identified by Wilmington police investigators as the man who robbed a woman of her gunpoint on April 23, said Cpl. Mark Ivey.

In that robbery, Smith allegedly approached a 39-year-old woman walking on the 800 block of Washington Street and displayed a handgun. He took her property and then fled, Ivey said.

Through "investigative techniques," investigators identified and Smith as a suspect and officers signed a warrant for his arrest.

Smith should be considered armed and dangerous and those who come into contact with him should call 911, Ivey said.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts can call Detective Justin Kreysa at (302) 576-3646, the Wilmington Police Department at (302) 654-5151 or Crime Stoppers at 1(800) TIP-3333. Tips can also be submitted online at www.tipsubmit.com.
