New Castle County police are asking for the public's help in finding the driver who left the scene of a two-vehicle crash that left two people injured in Claymont Thursday night.

A car was making a left turn onto Peachtree Road about 11:40 p.m. when it was struck from behind by another car, said Officer First Class Tracey Duffy.

The second car, which was described by police as a white older model Buick LaSabre with Delaware registration, fled from the scene, Duffy said. The vehicle likely has heavy front damage.

Both the 43-year-old driver of the car that was struck and his 45-year-old passenger were taken to a hospital.

Anyone with information can call Corporal J. Schlosser at (302) 395-8171. You can also text the key word NCCPD followed by your tip to 847411 (TIP411).
