A homeowner is facing charges after the state Fire Marshal determines that the man set his own house on fire in Bellefonte.

Firemen from Brandywine Hundred were called to the house in the 600 block of Rodman Road just before 8 p.m. Monday night and found the man hanging out of a first-floor window. An investigation revealed that the 42-year-old homeowner intentionally ignited materials causing an estimated $50,000 worth of damage to the home.

Deputies are in the process of obtaining an arrest warrant for the homeowner on charges of second degree arson.

The homeowner was taken to Christiana Hospital for smoke inhalation and upper body injuries. He's in stable condition.
