State police are investigating an armed robbery at a gas station in the Newark area.

It happened Saturday around 10:30 p.m. at the Riggins Service Station at 2650 Capitol Trail.

According to police, a male suspect armed with a handgun entered the station, pointed a gun at an employee and demanded money.

The employee--a 46 year-old man--gave him the cash, and the suspect fled. The employee wasn't hurt.

They say he was last seen wearing a dark jacket and khaki shorts.
