DNREC shutters Lake Como to swimming over elevated bacteria

DNREC shuts down a fresh water swimming area in Smyrna.

State environmental officials say they found elevated levels of bacteria in water quality samples taken at Lake Como Thursday.

The sample site will remain closed through the weekend with the next water quality samples taken Monday.
