Trooper who was shot released from hospital
By Amy Cherry

The state police trooper, who was shot by a suspect in Magnolia earlier this week, has been released from the hospital.

Corporal Lloyd McCan was shot in the face and in the hand by the Dennis Hicks while responding to a domestic incident Wednesday.

Hicks, a felon, was shot and killed by the officer during the barrage of gunfire.

McCann, who's a four-year veteran of the force, is now resting comfortably at home with his family.

He's been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
