COBRA health coverage subsidy extended

Delaware's Lieutenant Governor wants you to know about an expansion of the federal stimulus program designed to help those who lose their jobs keep their healh insurance.

Matt Denn says under the stimulus bill, the federal government pays 65 percent of the cost of replacement health insurance for workers at larger companies who lose their jobs.Audio Here

Before the stimulus bill passed, workers had to pay the full cost of buying into their former employer's health plans, plus a 2-percent surcharge under the federal Consolidated Ominibus Budget Reconciliation Act, or COBRA program.
