Dover PD to begin weekly shoplifter alerts
By Frank Gerace

Dover Police say they're fighting shoplifting by issuing weekly alerts for merchants in the city.

Police say beginning next month, the Shoplifters' "Weekly Roll Call" will include names and booking photos of anyone 18 or older who's arrested for shoplifting in Dover, regardless of the dollar amount of merchandise stolen.

The department announces the launch of the alerts on its website and in social media.

Police say they've investigated an average of 2 and a half shoplifting cases a day in Dover since 2011, most by drug addicts who steal because they've spent their money on drugs or are trading the stolen goods for drugs.

You'll be able to see the shoplifter alerts on social media sites and the department's website,
