Wildland firefighters from DE to help out in Northwest
By Jim Hilgen

Delaware's Department of Agriculture is sending a firefighting crew to lend a hand in Redmond, Washington.

The team, dispatched Saturday, is made up of volunteers from public agencies, volunteer fire companies and private citizens, all of whom completed a rigorous training regimen.

The crew is led by veteran wildland firefighter Samual Topper a regional forester based at Redden State Forest in Georgetown.

The Delaware crew will be assigned to fight one of more than 40 fires raging in the American Northwest.
