Two arrested after fight at Newark motel

A fight and robbery outside of a Newark motel early Sunday morning, lands two people behind bars.

Newark Police say Maurice Cruz-Webster, and Sherman Pride tried to steal the phones of two people trying to call 911.

The calls were being made after the victims asked people in a nearby room at the Red Roof Inn in the 1100 block of South College Avenue to be quiet, and they refused.

According to Police, after grabbing one person's phone, Pride punched a third victim in the face.

The pair face charges including robbery, conspiracy, and offensive touching.
