State troopers are investigating a Sunday morning crash on Foulk Road that left a pedestrian in critical condition.

Around 11 a.m., police say a car driven by a Wilmington woman was headed northbound when it slowed and went onto the right shoulder to get around another car making a left turn onto Armstrong Lane.

The right front of her car hit a man walking southbound, facing traffic.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center where he was admitted in critical condition. Police have not released his name.

Foulk Road at Armstrong Lane was closed for about an hour while the crash was investigated and cleared.

No charges have been filed.
