Delaware ranks right near the top of the list of other states with regard to the use of solar energy.

According to a survey from the Environment America Research & Policy Center, Delaware ranks 7th per capita for solar installations.

Since December 2008, the state's solar capacity has grown from two megawatts to 59 megawatts. During that time, 1600 solar energy systems have been installed on government buildings, businesses, schools and homes in Delaware.

The report attributed the rise to Delaware's leadership, energy legislation, strong public policies and innovative financing options.
