A chicken truck overturns in Dover - allowing dozens of birds to escape their cages.

It happened at the Route 13/113 split just before 6:30 a.m. Thursday.

No injuries are reported, but lots of chickens were at the scene - tying up traffic.

Dover Police Cpl. Mark Hoffman says the truck fell on its side about 4 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 13. Hoffman says it is believed the truck's cargo shifted, caused it to fall.

Transportation officials say some lanes of the road were closed for more than five hours.
