The Blue Rocks failed to sweep Frederick as they fell to the Keys 4-1 Thursday night at Frawley Stadium.

Rocks starter John Walter allowed three runs in 3.2 innings before being relieved by Andrew Edwards. Wilmington's bullpen was sharp allowing just one run in 5.1 innings of relief.

Frederick starter Branden Kline scattered six hits in 5.2 innings allowing one run.

The Blue Rocks got on the board first in the third with an RBI double from Raul Mondesi, scoring Daniel Rockett.

Frederick would respond in the fourth scoring three runs. The first coming on a sacrifice fly from Wynston Sawyer. Three batters later, John Ruettiger would punch a ball into left, just out of the reach of shortstop Raul Mondesi that scored two go-ahead runs.

John Ruettiger proved to be the offensive standout as he added a solo home run in the sixth inning, his first of the season.

The Blue Rocks open a three game series with Winston-Salem at Frawley Stadium Friday night at 7pm.
