Two Kent County men face numerous charges after they were observed stealing an air conditioning unit from a home located in Magnolia.

State police say the incident happened around 8 o'clock Thursday morning, after a resident of the unit block of Church Creek Drive called 911 after observing a suspicious white pickup truck parked in a driveway of a neighboring home.

The witness told police that he watched as two men removed an air conditioning unit from the exterior of the home and placed it in the pickup truck before fleeing; a second witness followed the truck and was able to guide responding troopers to its location.

Police found the truck on Cherry Drive and arrested 33-year-old Martin Daniels of Magnolia and 32-year-old Christopher Porter of Dover; police say they had dumped the AC unit in a wooded area off of Plain Dealing Road.

Police were also able to link both men to two additional thefts of air conditioning units from a house located in the 1800 block of Turkey Point Road in Felton on August 9 and from a home located in the 200 block of Pardoners Tail Lane in Felton on August 8th.

Porter and Daniels were released after posting $8,250 bail each.
