By Amy Cherry

Birds in Delaware test positive for West Nile Virus for the first time this year.

The state's Division of Public Health says an American crow in North Wilmington tested positive for the mosquito-borne virus.

As a result, DNREC's mosquito control will enhance surveillance and monitoring in North Wilmington and follow-up with mosquito control actions in areas of concern.

So far, no other birds, horses, chickens, or humans have contracted West Nile this year.
