VIDEO: A look at St. Mark's training campSt. Mark's hopes to turn a solid ending to 2013 into a stellar 2014 campaign.
The Spartans won their final 3 regular season games, including a win over Caesar Rodney, to get into the post-season in 2013 with a 7-3 record.
They graduated quarterback Zach Whitehead, but head coach John Wilson says they return some important pieces to the offensive puzzle.
"Our offensive line, every player comes back. We have six guys who are proven varsity players. With the stability of Matt Williams at quarterback and Rhett Schweizer at the slot, and Daulton Ziemba coming out on offense we're good. On the defense, we have four returning starters, but seven on offense, so offense is a key."
Williams will likely miss at least the first few games due to an injury, but Connor Eastep is a capable replacement who took snaps under center last year.
Schweitzer is cautiously optimistic for the season: "Hopefully we can be a good team, play tough, physical, and make it to the championship."
