Weldin-Stewart defends transition team
The incoming Insurance Commissioner says her picks for transition team are based on expertise
Karen Weldin-Stewart defended her choices by saying she wants people who will be

Weldin-Stewart says her choices were not political and denies claims that any of her
transition team including former County Executive Tom Gordon helped her campaign in any
way.
Weldin-Stewart's team includes Tom Gordon, former County Executive and police chief,
who's been in the public eye for other reasons, all of which Weldin-Stewart's team says
is in the past.
