Kentco man is 7th Delawarean to die from H1N1

A 47-year-old Kent County man is the 7th Delaware resident to die from H1N1 flu.

The state Division of Public Health Tuesday announced the man, who had several underlying health conditions, passed away Sunday.

He was hospitalized February 8th and tested positive for H1N1 11 days later.

DPH director Doctor Karyl Rattay says people with chronic underlynig conditions, including heart disease, obesity and asthma are at higher risk for H1N1 complications, as are those with weakened immune systems.
