Delaware's January unemployment rate is 9%, up from 8.8% in December.

The biggest monthly job losses were in construction, financial activities, and professional and business services.

Over the past year, fields that lost the most jobs were wholesale and retail trade, professional and business services, construction and manufacturing.

The only gains were in education and health.

Delaware's January unemployment number is still well below the national rate, which was 9.7% in January, down from 10% in December.
