County Council approves labor agreement

The agreement covers issues including vacations, benefits, sick leave and
unemployment compensation.
According to Council President Paul Clark, the most important element is the
extension of salary rollbacks through fiscal year 2011.
Clark says keeping salaries stable will save New Castle County more than a million
dollars over the next year.
At its latest session Council unanimously approved a resolution authorizing County
Executive Chris Coons to complete the labor deal with union officials.
