Sussex biz owners urged to report storm damage
By Frank Gerace

A Sussex County official says residents are reporting damage from last week's nor'easter to the county Emergency Operations Center, but business owners need to do so, too.

EOC director Joe Thomas says nearly 100 property owners have reported damage from the storm, but most of the reports so far have come from homeowners--in fact, EOC staffers just learned Wednesday about 4 flooded businesses in Milton.

Thomas says if business owners don't report their damage, the county and state may not qualify for federal disaster assistance.

Anyone who needs to report damage can call the EOC at 856-7366 between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM weekdays, and should be ready to explain the nature, location and cause of the damage and whether they're insured.

Anyone who'd like to upload photos of their properties so state officials can see the damage can click here
