Man stalks student, classmate scares him off
By Frank Gerace

State Police are looking for a man they say was stalking a female high school student near a Wilmington school bus stop.

Police say the man, whom they think could be homeless, rode his bike toward the girl as she walked to the bus stop along Vandever Avenue Wednesday morning.

The girl noticed the man and tried to get away from him by walking between parked cars, but the man stayed behind the girl, imitating her movements and mumbling at her until a male classmate had words with the man, scaring him off.

Police say the suspect is black, 30 to 40 years old, 6 feet tall, about 180 pounds and scruffy-looking, wearing a knee-length black coat.

Anyone with information can call State Police or Crimestoppers.
