Newark cops seek suspects, clues in 2 holdups
By Frank Gerace

Newark police are looking for clues in a pair of robberies.

The first happened Tuesday night, when a man wearing dark clothing held what was apparently a gun to an 18-year-old boy's head as the victim and a 19-year-old girl walked along a service road between Nathan Hale Court and Ethan Allen Court in Cherry Hill Manor.

The victim went to the ground and gave the suspect his money, and the suspect pointed the gun at the girl before he ran off.

Early Wednesday morning, another suspect stuck what was apparently a ratchet wrench into a UD student's back and took the student's wallet as the student was waiting to be let into a friend's house on Prospect Avenue.

The suspect is a man in his 20's, about 6 feet tall with an average build and facial hair, and wore a white hoodie, tan jacket, blue basketball shorts and white sneakers.

Anyone with information can call Newark detectives or Crimestoppers.
