Pencader win kicks off weekend of playoffs

n Pencader advances to the Division 2 finals in the Delaware High School Football Tournament.

Pencader Charter defeats Red Lion Christian Academy 31 to 21. Pencader took a 23-0 lead into halftime but Red Lion charged back by scoring twice early in the third quarter. Jerome Smith, however, scored on a 1-yard touchdown run in the quarter to ice the win for Pencader. Red Lion ends its season at 8 and 3 while Pencader improves to 9 and 2.

There are three first round games on Saturday. In Division 1, Concord hosts St. Mark's in a 1pm game...you can hear that game on a delayed basis on WDEL, at 4pm, right after the Wesley-North Carolina Wesleyan game. Sussex Tech hosts Caesar Rodney at 7pm in the other Divion 1 game.

And at 7pm, in Division 2, Howard takes on Delmar at Baynard Stadium...and that game will also be featured on WDEL starting at 6:45.
