By Don Voltz

n Delaware basketball coach Monte Ross said before the season his Blue Hens would be better defensively this year.

So far that hasn't proven to be the case. Bucknell shot 57 per cent from the field as the Bison whipped Delaware 82-66, dropping the Hens to 0-2 on the season.

Bucknell also hit 29 of 33 free throws as they evened their record at 2-2.

Jawan Carter led Delaware with 17 points...Alphonso Dawson scored 10 but made just 4 of 21 field goal attempts. Delaware was just 26 of 71 from the floor.

The Blue Hens hit the road for the next 5 games, starting Saturday night at Penn.
