Eagles Secondary Takes a Hit
By Spencer Graves

n Suspensions and injuries slow down the secondary of the Philadelphia Eagles.

The NFL has suspended Eagles cornerback Joselio Hanson four games for violating the league's ban on performance enhancing substances.

Hanson will be eligible for Philadelphia's Dec. 13 game against the New York Giants.

Hanson's attorney, David Cornwell, says his client was suspended after testing positive for a diuretic before last year's NFC Championship Game against Arizona.

Hanson has 29 tackles and one interception this season.

The secondary received bad news again when cornerback Ellis Hobbs is done for the season with a neck injury suffered in Sunday night's loss to Dallas.

Eagles coach Andy Reid says the surgery should allow Hobbs to play again.

Hobbs recorded 14 tackles in eight games as a backup. He also averaged 24.1 yards on 20 kickoff returns.

To replace Hobbs the Eagles signed free agent Ramzee Robinson, who was among Detroit's final cuts in September.
