VIDEO: Sean Greene speaks with Alex SmithAlex Smith used a specialty to become one of the top faceoff men in lacrosse history, guiding Delaware to a Final Four, and himself into the Delaware Athletics Hall of Fame Friday.
The native of Timonium, Md. won an astounding 311 faceoffs his senior season in 2007. He also set NCAA records for career groundballs (1,484 - mostly on faceoffs), and was a perfect 21 for 21 on draws agaisnt Manhattan in 2006.
Smith has taken his faceoff prowess to the next level, competing professionally in the indoor National Leacrosse League and outdoor Major League Lacrosse. Smith helped lead the Chesapeake Bayhawks to the MLL title this past summer, and was part of the gold medal US team at the FILA World Games in Manchester, England in 2010.
He now owns several restaurants near the Inner Harbor in Baltimore.
