By Peter MacArthur 6:26am, December 3, 2012 - Updated 2:08pm, December 3, 2012As Delaware's youngest residents get ready for a visit from Santa, so too, do Delaware seniors thanks to a a local at-home care agency.
Home Instead Senior Care is looking for people to take part in its Be a Santa to a Senior program.
Ruby Holdeman organizes the program in Delaware.
"We try to recognize those seniors who may be alone, who may not be in a position to be receiving gifts, and we outreach to them and work with several merchants in the community in collecting gifts that we deliver to their door for them," she says.
Holdeman says there are several ways to take part including visiting the Boscov's in the Concord Mall and Christiana Town Centre and the Happy Harry's on North Union Street in Wilmington. Those stores have Christmas trees on display with the names of seniors who could use your help and generosity this holiday season.
