A composite sketch of the suspect/NCCo. Police Dept.New Castle County police are investigating an attempted daytime burglary in the Brandywine Hundred area.
It happened around 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 19 at a home on the 100 block of Brians Court in the Clair Manor community, where police say a 61-year-old woman spotted a man trying to break into her home.
When the victim confronted the would-be burglar, he fled and drove away in a newer model small SUV that police say might have a Pennsylvania license plate. She then called the police.
Officers searched the area but couldn't locate the suspect. He's described as thin, between 20 and 25 years old with a thin mustache and dark colored hoodie.
Police released a composite sketch of the suspect Friday night.
Anyone with information on the incident can contact County police or Crime Stoppers.
