By Amy Cherry 2:57pm, April 11, 2013It's that time of year. Time to get your rusty lawnmower out of the garage and get a tune-up while also helping out three University of Delaware clubs.
Tim Schofield, Vice President of University of Delaware's Alpha Gamma Rho, says the service is just like an oil-change for your car.
"We take push mowers, and we'll wash 'em, clean the air filter, change the oil, replace the spark plug, and sharpen the blade for people, and it's $38," says Schofield.
Schofield says it's a bargain.
"It's a pretty good deal. We found that we're much lower than some of the other mower shops in the area for the same service," he says.
He tells WDEL they're expecting up to 600 push mowers throughout the weekend. No riding mowers will be accepted for tune-ups.
You can bring yours to UD's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, located at 531 South College Avenue in Newark from 2-8 p.m. on Friday. They'll also accept push mowers Saturday, April 13 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Proceeds benefit UD's Alpha Gamma Rho, the Society of Automotive Engineers, and the Engineering Technology Club.
