Point-to-Point, Delaware's premier annual horse race, is celebrating its 35th Anniversary with a day of events and activities on May 5th.

Senior Events Planner Jill Abbott calls the day of elite horse racing, "Delaware's answer to the Kentucky Derby."

"You know, we have all of the sanctioned races. These are professional jockeys, this is what they do for a living. It's like professional baseball," Abbot says.

In addition to the race, Winterthur will hold its famous carriage parade...just part of how organizers will make the day one the whole family can enjoy.

"So we have those races in the afternoon, but we have so much family fun going on all day. We have children's activities in the Winterthur Hunt, we have the New Castle County Mounted Patrol, we have the Delaware State Police Mounted Patrol...they're going to come and the kids can meet and greet their horses, we have canine capers."

Abbott adds Point-to-Point falls on May 5th this year, and Cinco de Mayo festivities will be incorporated into the event.
