On June 4th the Colonial School District is asking the voters to approve a referendum increasing taxes by 35 cents per 100 dollars of assessed value.

Community residents wanting to learn more about the tax increase request are invited to a meeting Monday night.

District officials will be on hand at Gunning Bedford Middle School to outline the referendum request at 7 pm.

The June 4th referendum comes on the heels of a failed February 28 vote in which the district sought an increase of 47 cents per 100 dollars in assessed value.
