Joe Irizarry for our station Delaware 105-9 has more.
It took seven weeks to rehab the M/V Cape Henlopen, and Governor Markell along with Teresa Ford, the wife of Lewes Mayor Jim Ford, helped to re-christen the boat Monday.
The overall costs was $800,000.
DRBA Spokesman James Salmon describes some of the new amenities for the ferry.
"New carpets, vinyl flooring, wide-screen flat-paneled TVs with satellite, wifi upgrades, upgrades to our restroom facilities, new state-of-the-art seating that is unparalleled," says Salmon.
Salmon adds other improvements included a fresh coat of paint and installation of new stack logo's to celebrate the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry.
