By Michelle Provencher 9:54pm, July 23, 2013Specialty prescriptions will have price caps for Delaware residents starting next year thanks to a bill signed into law Tuesday.
The new legislation would limit co-pays for specialty medications for serious, long-term illnesses to $150 for a 30-day supply.
Patients will also be able to request an exception to obtain a specialty drug their insurance wouldn't otherwise cover.
Governor Markell thanked both local and national organizations for hemophilia, arthritis, MS and HIV for their involvement in forming the law at the signing ceremony.
The law goes into effect January 1, 2014.
