By Mellany Armstrong 9:28am, September 23, 2013 - Updated 9:45am, September 23, 2013This isn't the bookmobile you might remember as a kid.
The Digital Bookmobile is coming to Delaware.
Judy Patterson of OverDrive, a distributor of e-books that is sponsoring the bookmobile, tells what you'll see inside the 74-foot-long 18-wheel tractor trailer.
"On the truck, there are seven main workstations inside and four laptops outside, and they're all equipped with demos, how-to videos, and then the library site, so patrons can see what's available to check out," she said.
Readers will learn how to access their library's collection of digital content on their cellphones and tablets. The bookmobile will stop by the Appoquinimink Community Library this Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 651 N. Broad St., Middletown; Thursday at the Dover Public Library at 35 Loockerman Plaza from noon to 6 p.m.; Friday at the Georgetown Public Library at 123 W. Pine St. from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Saturday at the Georgetown Public Library from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Learn more by clicking here.
