The Heron Run Apartment Complex was rundown and beat up, so a developer partnered up with the Delaware State Housing Authority to completely remodel the place for tenants.
David Layfield of the Green Street Housing Development tells NBC 10 the complex now has new common area, modern amenities, and better outdoor lighting.
"And that's what makes my job so great is we get to go into a community that's tired and worn out and transform it and provide an asset to its residents, but also an asset to the community," says Layfield.
The complex also has wifi for all residents and solar panels that can generate enough electricity for all common areas.
