Nakia Miller/Courtesy of Wilmington Police Department.A convicted felon has been charged with a firearm offense after Wilmington police found a loaded shotgun in his home early Saturday morning.
Officers were called to the 2600 block of N. Tatnall Street around 1:00 a.m. after multiple 911 calls reporting of shots fired in the area.
Police say the officers saw shell casings in the street and saw a home that had been struck by gunfire.
The officers then entered the home through an open front door, and police say 39-year-old Nakia Miller was found unharmed inside the residence.
Police say officers also found a loaded 20-gauge shotgun and several boxes of ammunition.
Miller, who's prohibited from having firearms because of his prior felony conviction, was taken into custody and arraigned at JP Court 20. He committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
Police are still investigating the reported shooting.
