Hodgson's Ray Jones scored four touchdowns in the first half to carry the Silver Eagles to a 38-0 victory against top-seeded St. Georges in the DIAA Division II State Football Championship on Saturday afternoon.

After the Silver Eagles fumbled during the opening drive, St. Georges recovered the ball but missed a field goal. That was just the spark Hodgson needed.

Jones rushed for a 6 yard and 20 yard touchdown in the opening quarter.

In the second, Hodgson (11-2) coach Frank Moffett challenged his star quarterback in yet another position. Jones was back to return the punt. Moffett's choice paid off, because after the ball bounced to Jones, he was off to the races for a 61 yard touchdown return.

With 1:51 left in the quarter, Hodgson went for it on fourth and goal. Jones scored on the keeper, and the Silver Eagles held on to a 26-0 lead at halftime.

In the third, St. Georges got as close as the eight yard line en route to score. But the Hawks' Zach Wright threw an interception to give Hodgson another opportunity to score.

Senior Rakeim Woodland rushed for a 39 yard touchdown, and Deondre Carr picked up a final touchdown with a running clock in the third quarter.

St. Georges finished the season (11-2), both losses from Hodgson.
