St. Andrews' big man Ben Bentil led all scorers with 25 points and 16 rebounds, but key shooting performances from Sanford's Anthony Mosley and Todd Hughes secured a 66-45 Warriors' victory in an Independent Conference match up Tuesday.

The Saints held on to a 15-14 edge at the end of the first quarter, when Bentil scored eight of those St. Andrews' points.

Sanford would take a 18-17 lead, after Hughes dunked a two-handed jam. The Warriors extended the scoring gap to nine points by the half. The score was 31-22 at the break.

Bentil opened the third quarter with a one-handed dunk, but Mosley's six points in the quarter and a few steals from the Warriors kept Sanford ahead with a 10 point edge going into the final quarter.

In the fourth, 6'6" Jacob Walsh rejected St. Andrews, when he went up for the huge block that fired up the Sanford crowd. The momentum was on the Warriors' side, and Mikey Dixon hit a few jumpers that put up Sanford by 18 points.

Sanford outscored St. Andrews 21-10 in the final quarter. With the win, the Warriors hold on to a four game winning streak.

Sanford improved to 6-2, while St. Andrews fell to 1-5.

The Warriors host St. Elizabeth Thursday at 5 p.m, and St. Andrews hopes to bounce back against another conference competitor in Wilmington Friends on Saturday.
