Delaware could feel effects from Arthur

The head of the Rehoboth Beach Patrol says he's a little nervous about Hurricane Arthur, but that his lifeguards will be prepared, and in place, to help keep beach visitors safe this Fourth of July weekend.

Kent Buckson says it's unusual to have a tropical storm or hurricane this early in the season. And the fact that it coincides with a crowded July Fourth weekend makes public safety planning even more important.

Buckson says rip currents will likely start Friday, and that sunny weather on Saturday and Sunday could draw lots of people to the beach and into the water.

The storm is expected to gain hurricane strength and skim North Carolina's Outer Banks early Friday, before moving off the coast of New England later in the day.
