VIDEO: A look at the QuakersIf there is strength in numbers, Wilmington Friends could be feeling like Hercules this season.
The Quakers welcomed what could be a record 51 players to their training camp this summer, including a senior class of 13 players.
One position that is wide open is at quarterback, where sophomore Justin Beneck and junior Cameron Kendle are battling to be the signalcaller for the Quakers. Beneck brings a hard charging run/pass style, with Kendle's accuracy being a major weapon as they will likely battle right to the season opener to be the starter.
Friends returns plenty of talent including Tight End/OLB Tommy Rhodes, running back Jimmy Carney, and two-way lineman Ian Furman.
The Quakers had a late-season 3-game winning streak to push them to a 4-5 record, and are looking to take that next step with their talent. They open their 2014 season against Baltimore Friends before facing Seaford in their home opener. A sign to the Quakers' success could be week 3's trip to Woodbridge.
