Turkey Tech

It's Thanksgiving morning and panic sets in, "My turkey is still frozen and I'm not entirely sure how long I need to cook it once it does thaw out." You can dial up the Butterball turkey talk line and hope you get through, or you can keystroke your way to a better bird at butterball.com. There you'll find the answers to frequently asked questions about thawing, roasting and stuffing turkeys, plus you can do a click to chat and send an online message to staff standing by. Marty Van Ness with Butterball says there's an even easier way to get top notch turkey tips and you can take them to the store with you.

"New this year is our Butterball cook book plus app, so you can download our app right on your iPad or iPhone and get this cook book app or go to Butterball.com and get plenty of recipes."

And in these closing days til T-minus-none you can follow Butterball on Facebook and Twitter and pin it on Pinterest. Van Ness says over the next week they'll be hearing from first time cooks of all ages.

"And the first time cook could be twenty or they could be eighty years old, we run the gamut here. And so we always tell the, "Keep it simple." Our favorite method and the easiest way to cook your first turkey is the open pan method. It is a delicious turkey, it gives a golden brown roasted turkey, it has a wonderful roasted flavor and it's a very simple method to follow."

Once again that web address is butterball.com.
