A kiting board accident left a Bear-area man dead Friday.
Delaware State Police said the body of a 48-year-old man was pulled from Rehoboth Bay in the Towers Bay area of Delaware Seashore State Park at 1:37 p.m. on October 4, 2019.
Troopers said earlier that day, the man had met with his father, in that area on the bayside off Coastal Highway, so that they could practice kite boarding.
While practicing, police said the man used only the harness and kite, no board. While he was standing in the water, police said heavy winds pulled the man further out to sea, into deeper waters.
His body was located by Delaware Fish and Wildlife Police along the south shore.
An autopsy will determine the exact manner and cause of death.
The victim's identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
