A New Castle man died after a car hit his bicycle late Friday night as he rode along Route 202.
The 35-year-old victim was riding in the right lane of 202 southbound near Interstate 95 when the car, whose driver apparently couldn't see the bike, plowed into it on July 5, 2019, Delaware State Police said.
The rider was thrown over the car and ended up in the middle lane of 202.
Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene, and they're withholding his name pending family notification.
There were no lights on the bike, and the rider wasn't wearing reflective clothing.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene, and police said he wasn't speeding or under the influence.
