McArthur Risper

A Bridgeville man will spend the rest of his life in prison for murder.

McArthur M. Risper Jr., 30, was sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years for the killing of 41-year-old Corey Bailey in 2018, the Delaware Department of Justice announced Friday, January 17, 2020.

Police said in May of that year, Bailey was shot multiple times by Risper and another man on the 21000 block of Mill Park Drive. Bailey later died at the hospital.

The second suspect remains the subject of an ongoing investigation, according to the Delaware DOJ.

Police had identified Risper as a suspect just one day after the fatal shooting. He turned himself into authorities a few days later.

Risper was subsequently found guilty of first-degree murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and conspiracy.
